the name is desmond yong (malico) - software engineer from cameroon.

i work at <a href="https://palauaandsons.com/">palaua &amp; sons</a>. outside work, i build <a href="https://desgn.space/">desgn space</a> and other small internet projects.

most of my work sits around golang, laravel, typescript, and sqlite. i enjoy building software that stays fast, simple, and easy to operate as it grows.

i've spent time on both sides of software: helping companies run and scale critical systems, and bootstrapping products from zero to something people use every day. i'm particularly interested in lean infrastructure, low-latency systems, and getting maximum value from minimal resources.

you'll usually find my work running somewhere across cloudflare, hetzner, digitalocean, or aws.

outside code, i'm probably talking music, football, f1, chess, or checkers.
